Product Care & Help Guide

Product Care & Help Guide

Kitchen utensils, electronic weighing sensors, and food preparation gadgets face frequent contact with liquids, organic acids, temperature swings, and routine washing.

This guide offers practical recommendations to help you maintain accuracy, mechanical smoothness, and hygienic durability across your kitchen tools. Please note: Battery specifications, sensor capacities, and washing recommendations vary between models. Specific instructions supplied with your product always take priority over the general advice in this guide.

1. Digital & Mechanical Kitchen Scales

Sensor Care & Cleaning

Never submerge electronic scales in water or place them in a dishwasher. Wipe stainless steel platforms and tempered glass weighing surfaces with a slightly damp microfibre cloth and buff dry. Avoid letting liquids seep into sensor edges or battery compartments.

Weighing Accuracy Best Practice

  • Always place scales on a hard, flat, level surface. Weighing on uneven chopping boards or soft tablecloths can cause inaccurate sensor readings.
  • Do not exceed the maximum stated capacity (e.g. 5 kg, 15 kg, or 20 kg). Storing heavy mixing bowls on top of scale platforms when not in use can damage delicate load-cell sensors.

2. Manual Can & Tin Openers

Cutting Blade Cleaning

Food juices and brine from canned tomatoes or tuna can cause surface spotting on gear wheels if left to dry. Rinse the cutting wheel under warm running water immediately after use and dry thoroughly with a towel to keep carbon/stainless steel blades razor-sharp and rust-free.

Gear Maintenance

For heavy-duty bench-mounted openers, periodically inspect clamping mechanisms and apply a drop of food-safe mineral oil to the turning gear if operation becomes stiff over time.

3. Ice Cream & Lolly Moulds

Easy Demoulding Tip

When removing homemade lollies from stainless steel moulds, hold the mould briefly under warm tap water for 3 to 5 seconds. The lolly will slide out effortlessly without damaging the stick or bending the frame.

Hygienic Washing

Wash silicone and stainless moulds with warm soapy water after use. Use a narrow bottle brush to clean the base of deep lolly cavities. Avoid harsh bleach or wire scouring pads that could scratch smooth interior surfaces.
